Welcome to my workshop!

I love to learn, experiment, and tinker. Every project is an opportunity to add more tools to my toolbelt, and I believe that the more you try things, the more you see the connections between them.

My music informs my visual art which informs my sewing which informs my 3D modeling which informs my programming which informs my circuit design… and so on.

I'm fortunate to have room in my apartment for a creative space, which I've packed to the brim with tools and supplies. I've set up an electronics workbench, 3D printer, sewing machine, drum machines, DJ mixer… it's a full on makerspace / nightclub :)

What am I learning now?

I've found a couple of major categories of skills I'm interested in building right now, which you can see reflected in that sidebar over there 👈

Lately I've been interested in sewing, electronics, 3D printing, and electronic music, which are coming together in cyber fashion, tools for making video art, and tools for live music performances.

Who knows what I'll get into next!

Professionally, I design software

I've been a product designer for the past 10 years, mostly working on tools for developers, data analysts, and data center administrators. Currently I work at Observable, where I've been designing tools to help people collaboratively explore data and build bespoke, performant data apps. Our newest product is Observable Framework, a static site generator for data apps (which I also used to build this website!).
